The
banana museum has been settled on june 1996 in a real banana farm.
Located on the north coast of the island, in the parish of Sainte-Marie.
A Genium place full with history. One of the most important sugar
cane factory of island in the 18th century .
The sugar cane house and the rum distillery’s vestiges are
still visible nowadays and testify success in its activities.
Its successive owners, members of the older family of the island
– sir De Salle, from 1720 to 1820 and sir Le VASSOR de LATOUCHE
from 1820 to 1882- has made a wonderful and prestigious area with
this old sugar and rum refinery’s dwelling.
